🏐Writing Orders
“From left to right, from top to bottom” is the principle of writing. Don’t forget!
Let’s try writing in the air with our index finger while reading the vowels.
①ㅣ➕ – = ㅏ
② – ➕ ㅣ= ㅓ
③ | ➕ ㅡ = ㅗ
④ ㅡ ➕ | = ㅜ
⑤ ㅣ ➕ – ➕ – = ㅑ
⑥ – ➕ – ➕ ㅣ = ㅕ
⑦ | ➕ | ➕ ㅡ = ㅛ
⑧ ㅡ ➕ | ➕ | = ㅠ
🎃Don’t forget that ‘ㅏ, ㅑ, ㅓ, ㅕ, ㅗ, ㅛ, ㅜ, ㅠ, ㅡ, ㅣ’ sound the same as ‘아, 야, 어, 여, 오, 요, 우, 유, 으, 이’!
🎫Let’s practice!
‘우유’(Milk), ‘오이’(Cucumber), ‘아이’(Kid), ‘여우’(Fox)
💎 Tips!
The position of ‘ㅇ’ at the left side of a vertical vowel(ex:ㅏ,ㅑ,ㅓ,ㅕ,ㅣ) and at the top of a horizontal vowel(ex: ㅗ,ㅛ,ㅜ,ㅠ,ㅡ) is where a consonant goes.
Unlike the final consonant(bachim받침) ‘ㅇ[ŋ]’ which serves as a final consonant and does not produce a sound, this position is reserved for shaping the syllable.
In the case of vertical vowels, syllables can be formed by arranging consonants and vowels from left to right, similar to English.
However, for horizontal vowels, since vowels should be written below consonants, it is important to avoid listing them as ‘ㅇㅗ’, ‘ㅇㅜ’, and so on.
‘ㅇㅗ’, ‘ㅇㅜ’ (Wrong!!)
‘오’, ‘우’ (Correct!)
